GN102 is a huge production, much bigger than GN101, with almost 6 hours spread over 2 DVDs.
Disc 1 menu items include reversing, hitching, fishing, thermal cooking, boatloading, TV on the road, electric towing mirrors, caravan safes, campground etiquette, house-sitting and a whole lot more.
Disc 2 is nearly 2 hours of "More Places We've Bin", and takes a look at 21 different great spots around the nation, sprinkled throughout with more tips, advice and information - guaranteed to get the juices flowing!
Longer Description
Grey Nomad 101 is about how to go long-haul caravanning in Australia, and it's packed with over 3 hours of tips and advice. Much more "user friendly" than a book, it's as entertaining as it is informative. A great watch whether you're just about to buy a caravan, or have already been towing one for years. As well as being a died-in-the-wool caravanner, Sid is a professional videographer, presenter and author. He brings it all together in this DVD.
And - it's also a computer disk with some bonus files, including a spreadsheet of everything they take with them, which you can modify and use for your own situation - many people say they find this extremely useful. (If you've got the DVD and don't know how to access the files, click here.)
Grey Nomad 102 addresses a much more diverse range of topics. Our intrepid duo have finally gotten tired of humping the dinghy up on the Landcruiser the hard way, and have installed the best boatloader in the business - it has its own menu item in the DVD.
The reversing item gives a unique and clear explanation of the principles involved using animated diagrams, a radio controlled model rig, and the full-sized version.
Sid's fishing lesson is very comprehensive, and even experienced fishers will learn a thing or two, while for newbies it's an absolute must.
In the hitching segment, Sid not only goes into hitching and unhitching with "standard" ball couplings, he also shows you the new hitch he fitted to his Kedron, along with some astute observations about weight distribution hitches and how they actually work, especially in emergency stopping situations. (Note: In GN103 you'll see an even more recent hitch in action.)
And once you've seen Sid's Cooking Show, you'll never let him anywhere near your kitchen . . . but you may have a different opinion of thermal cookware.
